Teaching Tools
Ciminelli Real Estate Services, Tampa, FL, is a proud sponsor of the Hillsborough Education Foundation Teaching Tools Store. The program provides teachers from Title 1 schools (Title 1 being a federal designation that identifies that 75% or more of the students qualify for free or reduced lunch program) the opportunity to shop for free school supplies. The supplies are distributed to their students, ensuring each child has the tools necessary to succeed academically. Teachers walk out with school supplies averaging $227 in value, for their use in the classroom. There is a high demand in Hillsborough County, Florida with 166 of the 263 public and charter schools deemed Title 1.
Since the inception of the program in 2002, the Teaching Tools Store has distributed $27.9 million in school supplies and continues to grow with the support of the Tampa Bay community. This year alone, Teaching Tools has distributed over $3 million of school supplies and serviced 198 local schools.
With the start of the new school year, the financial burden on families to provide their children with the necessary tools for school can be overwhelming. Something as simple as a pencil or crayon can make a significant impact on a child. With this in mind, Ciminelli has actively participated in the Teaching Tools program for nearly a decade, volunteering our time, donating school supplies, and participating in the annual fundraiser luncheon. This year’s luncheon was hosted at Armature Works in Tampa, Florida and held over 300 guests!
Stuff The Bus
Most recently, our team participated in the Fox 13 Stuff the Bus event where the Tampa Bay, FL community comes together to donate schools supplies to fill a school bus. Fox 13 has hosted the school supply drive two years in a row to help kick off the new school year. This year’s event was a huge success with over 2,000 lbs. of school supplies collected in one day.
Yoobi
The Ciminelli Real Estate Services Team has also volunteered with several Yoobi school supply deliveries. Yoobi offers bright and fun school supplies, which can be purchased at Target. For every item purchased, Yoobi contributes an item to a classroom pack. We had the pleasure to surprise both the students and teachers in over 78 classrooms with packs full of school supplies for every student in the class. The pure joy and surprise on the students’ faces was overwhelming.
Ciminelli understands the importance of nurturing and assisting with efforts to further the education of our youth. Collaborating with local causes like the Hillsborough Education Foundation Teaching Tools, Stuff the Bus, and Yoobi allows us to directly impact our community in a positive way.
